Information of Interest to All Students
1. Entrance requirements - Previous experience is not necessary. Our
only requirement is that you wish to learn, and are sincerely
interested in floral design.
2. Absences - More than two absences during this three week course
will result in interruption of training unless these absences are
satisfactorily made up before class.
3. Grading - Written and practical tests will be given weekly.
Passing grades will be determined by averaging these. A grade
average of at least 80% must be maintained for the three week
course. Less than that will require additional training before
regular school hours, or on weekends at a nominal fee.
4. Student conduct - Students will conduct themselves in a business
like manner while attending classes.
5. Training at other accredited design schools or institutions of
higher learning will be evaluated through written and performance
tests, and credit will be given when applicable.
6. Age Limitations - No limit to date, age span has ranged from 12
through 76. Aspiring Grandma Moses' are welcome!
7. Holiday observed - New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Mother's
Day, 4th of July , Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
8. Leaves allowed if classes are repeated in future classes;
unauthorized class cuts must be made up in future classes.
9. Tardiness limited to 5 minutes or less - Otherwise 5 tardies
equal 1/2 day absence and must be made up before class or on
weekends. Make up work will also be scheduled after class or on
weekends.
10. Unsatisfactory attendance will result in interruption of student
training which may be made up on weekends, before class or in future
classes as determined by each phase instructor.
11. Policy for dismissal for unsatisfactory conduct - The school
reserves the right to dismiss / discontinue a student for
unsatisfactory conduct through failure to attend classes punctually,
breach of school rules or regulations or for any cause the school
deems necessary for the good of the school.
Location School
1612 South Dixie Highway, Lake Worth. We are 5 miles south of Palm
Beach, 35 miles north of Fort Lauderdale, and about 65 miles north
of Miami. The Atlantic ocean is only a few blocks away, and Lake
Worth even closer. Walt Disney World is less than 3 1/2 hours north
of us, and students often drive there after classes on Friday for a
fabulous weekend.
Hours of Attendance
Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. These hours will
give our out-of-state students extra time to enjoy the many
wonderful things to see and do in our area. You will have a 30
minute break for lunch and a 15 minute break in the morning. Clock
hours per week equal 35; the complete program equals 105 clock
hours.
