We have been operating this school for over 36 years, making countless updates and changes as times shift, and we feel we have one of the finest design schools anywhere in the world. Student enrollment has come from over 40 countries, and every state except Hawaii and we are well known throughout our wonderful world of flowers. In addition to our phone for contact, we also have a fax number, 561-585-3359 and an email address at floridaconnect@webtv.net. Contact us any way you like, and we'll get right back to you with an answer to whatever you need to know. There are about a dozen licensed floral design schools in the country, and, as far as I know, we are the only one in Florida. The one question people ask us is, "How does your school differ from others? " And, from what we hear, most of the others teach mainly design, period. We, on the other hand, go into buying, selling, shop management, salesmanship, and everything you would need to know to open, manage or work as a designer in a successful shop. Be sure, when you choose your school, you select one that awards a department of education DIPLOMA upon completion of the training, not simply a "Certificate of Completion," because testing is necessary and important in your training field.

We sincerely appreciate your interest in our school, and hope to have the pleasure of meeting you one day soon. Thank you again for the opportunity of allowing us to send you our catalog, and please, if you have any concerns or questions, just let us know. All good wishes in your quest for a better future, and we wish you success in all you do.

-- Walter Metz

South Florida School of Floral Design

This state licensed floral design school, is unique among floral schools, because of its comprehensive approach to flower arranging. Founded in 1963 by James Walter Metz in Palm Beach County, Florida, this school for florists offers a complete course in all phases of floristry, including business and shop management, both basic and advanced design. This certified floral instruction school issues a diploma and job placement assistance. This school for floral arrangement is a proud member of the Society Of American Florists. At our flower school you shall receive the best floral design instruction in the world. Here are just some of the things you shall master at our Florida flower school: high style arrangements, floral management and the wire service, basic and advanced floral design, etc. Whether you're looking for the fancy acronyms, like AIFD, AAF, PFCI, or training in all aspects of the retail flower industry. With over 7,000 graduates, chances are that our competition graduated from our school and/or were taught by Mr. Metz. Among our success stories are directors from three design schools, Charles Wong from Hong Kong, and John Klingel from West Palm Beach's South Florida Center for Floral Studies, and Pierre Menot from Quebec, Canada.
